He did everything right, on one knee. |
The reason why he decided to propose on the beach was because that is where he stole his first kiss, which of course led to a long and stable relationship. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going on the day of the engagement to keep me completely surprised, but his phone kept ringing so much, calls from the people that were already at the beach. (You guys almost ruined it!!)
I had spent three months in my country and away from my family and friends. When I returned I noticed that I didn’t see any of my close friends making an effort to come see me. Not even my two best friends that I’m used to talking to regularly, about anything and nothing. I couldn’t get in touch with them for those last few months, I was just assuming they were busy. Even when his actions seemed suspicious and I thought that he may be proposing I would rush to call both of them and voicemail each time!! I was starting to get upset at them. Not that they couldn’t keep a secret just that I know them too well, to know when they are lying or hiding something from me.
After I said YES! |
When I walked up to the sea wall, and looked down to the beach and I see all those regular faces yelling SURPRISE, I was truly touched that they were all there to celebrate our anniversary. Little did I know that while the crowd was hugging me and saying hi, my honey was gathering himself to do things even more perfect. He got on one knee and presented me with the most beautiful and different engagement ring. On our five years together I never gave him a hint on what I wanted. I always said the man that I would marry would know my style. I didn’t want to pick my own ring, how tacky.
I was so happy on that day. To share that proposal with everyone was amazing. It’s better than having to tell them that we were engaged, they all got to see it and be part of it. That made it even more special. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Thanks my love!
